Events
The Nairobi Agricultural Show is held in the first week of October and is attended by local tribes people. Apart from this, there are celebrations during national holidays that include: Madaraka Day (1 June), which celebrates self government, Kenyatta Day (20 October) and Independence Day (12 December).
Places of Intrest
Visitors can have a good game – viewing experience at Nairobi National Park. The National Museum has displays on wildlife Kenya history and culture whereas the Railway Museum displays historic locomotives and exhibit. Lake Magadi is rarely visited by tourists but it presents the viewer with a weird lunar experience that takes your breath away. Kakamega Forest Reserve is home to a huge variety of birds and animals and worth a visit.

Hotels in Mombasa and Zanzibar offer water sports including sailing, wind sur fing, scuba diving, snorkelling and deep sea fishing.
Just outside the city, is the famous Carnivore restaurant that serves a wide variety of meats cooked on open charcoal pits, and one of the few places in Kenya to offer game meat.
